Certification period for September – December 2018, faculty effort reporting workshop, projects with co-PIs, compensation cost confirmations.
On February 5, the certification period for September – December 2018 will open. Over the next several weeks, more than 5,800 federal effort statements will be certified. This success would not be possible without the diligence of departmental fiscal administrators. Thank you!
A Faculty Effort Reporting workshop will be held on February 12, 2018 in the O’Hara Student Center Dining Room. This workshop targets PIs with federal effort reporting responsibilities, particularly new federal PIs. Please encourage faculty in your area to attend so that they can better understand their effort reporting responsibilities. Light refreshments will be served.
Effort statements with federally sponsored activity are routed to the PI(s) of those federally sponsored projects for certification. If a project has Co-PIs, ecrt routes the statements to the PI identified in the University’s Research and Proposal Accounting application (RPA). If the Co-PI not named in RPA has better firsthand knowledge of the work performed on the project and would be a more suitable certifier of the related effort, a Designee Request form should be submitted to allow this delegation of certification responsibilities.
