Departing PI’s, accessing ECC reports, and SPAR modifications.
If you have employees in your area leaving the University who are the named PI of a federal award(s), they will need to have a Proxy and/or Designee approved to certify the related effort after their departure.
The upgrade from ecrt to ECC has gone very smoothly. Although, we have had issues with reports not running correctly when using Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, which we have brought to the attention of the ECC developers.
Note: For best performance, we recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers to access ECC.
When SPAR reopens for modification on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, all entries will be recorded as FY 2020 transactions. Please keep in mind that any SPAR modifications to the FY 2019 periods will be subject to fiscal year-end cut off rules as follows:
- Salary charges resulting from a modification will appear on the Labor Distribution reports for the affected accounts in the new fiscal year.
- Salary credit transactions resulting from the modification will also be reflected on the Labor Distribution reports in the new fiscal year, except as noted below:
- Credits to prior fiscal year operating accounts (entity 02 or 03) will not be awarded to those operating accounts. Instead, the prior fiscal year credit will be made to a General University account.
