FISCAL YEAR-END CUT OFF ALERT!!! The SPAR application will go into Query Only mode at 5:00 pm on June 27, 2023. All FY 2023 SPAR entries must be recorded prior to this established cut-off. Please review Nicole’s email from May 19th for more details related to the FY 2023 cut-off dates for SPAR and SWCT 90-Day Exception Requests.
After June 27, SPAR modifications to May-June 2023 lines involving 02 accounts will be subject to Fiscal Year-End Cut Off rules:
- Charges to an entity 02 or 03 account will appear in the new fiscal year (FY 24).
- Credits to an entity 02 or 03 account will default to a General University account.
June 7 marks the opening of the January-April 2023 certification period. Please refer to our website for important dates related to the certification period and to find helpful resources for effort coordinators and PIs.
Please be aware that PERIS MyFunding will be down from July 21-30 for a scheduled upgrade. Account activations will be unavailable during this time. It is imperative that you plan to have account activations submitted as early as possible or consider requesting an advance account in order to record effort on the new account prior to the close of the certification period. A new deadline for Proxy and Designee requests is being implemented for the upcoming Jan-Apr 2023 certification period. All Proxy and Designee requests must be submitted by July 21 to ensure they can be processed timely by our office. Any Proxy/Designee requests received after this deadline will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis and approval/entry is not guaranteed. If you anticipate not being able to meet the deadline, you must reach out to SPARhelp@cfo.pitt.edu to make them aware of the situation.
