New Year’s Resolution Edition! This year, let’s resolve to:
• Review level reports and process timely corrections to avoid necessitating a 90-Day
Exception request, particularly in situations only involving entities 02, 03, or 04
accounts.
• Obtain an Advance Account when work begins on a sponsored project. If an Advance
Account cannot be issued, document effort as described on our website.
• Explore the ECC and SPAR reports. You may be surprised at the information that is
available to you.

The ECC Pre-Review period opens on January 8, 2021 for the fall academic term. Changes to note:
• Effort statements will be present for all non-union employees, Salaried and Hourly.
Hourly activity has only been included from November 1, 2020 and forward.
• Salaried, Non-Exempt employees who were converted on November 1 to hourly will
have two effort statements, a Salaried effort statement for the months of September-
October, and an Hourly effort statement for November 1-December 26.
• There are now two Employee Types in ECC, Salaried and Hourly, replacing the
previous Semester Employee Type.
• Parameters for certain ECC reports require an Employee Type. You should run these
reports twice, once for each Employee Type, to capture the full results for your area.

implementation of Pitt Worx and the usual monthly processing.
